I want someone to explain why Vancouver cannot do the obvious and trade Schnieder and keep Lungo. Is there something that prevents all the parties from back tracking on all the stories that are out there?

It would make sense Schneider is still unproven but will definitely bring back more than luongo ever would.

Is that a rumor? Or should this website name be changed to Random Hockey Twitter recaps.

If you had Jonathan Quick, and Martin Brodeur (for instance), who would you keep? I'd be fine keeping both if a good deal doesn't come back. Don't want Komisarek or Connolly.

I have a feeling the flyers will target Weber, if Suter stays in Nashville. Schenn, JVR, 1st for Weber?

Why would they want to trade Schnieder?

you conveniently left out the part where parise said that he plans on remaining a devil

as a journalist you should really provide all info and not just snips of it

Zach also said "This is a great place to play and I love it here. I love being here." He commented about how the stability behind the bench is a great thing, and also said he wants to stay here.

...which is contradictory to all that gloom and doom about Zach for whatever reasons (playing with Kovy, Langenbrunner being dealt, etc.) being unhappy here.

Nashville needs more proven scorer than those 2 in return for one of the best defenseman on the planet.

It is all speculation based on the fact that Luongo said he would accept a trade if necessary, and that Shcnieder played in the playoffs.

I seriously doubt that Luongo gets traded because it would jkust make no sense to a team that just recently signed such a huge contract extension with the guy to bail on him so soon.

That said Schnieder is most likely not going to sign an extension unless he knows that the has a spot available. My guess is that they submit a qualifying offer to Schnieder which he will sign, and if they get a reasonable offer for either goalie they will take it. Since they won't ge tthe value they probably want for Luongo, Schnieder will be on the move, and it will probably be midway through the year.

Implied vs. directly stated are two different things.

Yes it seems that he would be open to remaining a devil, but from what I have sen he has not stated "it is my intention to remain with the devils next season and not test the waters on July 1st"

Here are a few of my observations:

1. Why in the hell would anyone want to play for the Rangers?
2. The Flyers and Habs should trade starting goaltenders...
3. The Leafs will rot in hell for 20 years if they trade for Lu...

Yes, I read the more detailed account of his comments and thought it was a bit misleading to comment only on the Ranger part of the story.

- LEAFSfan28191

Explain how Schneider is unproven. In his first two seasons his record is 36-12-3, with a save % .933. Draw whatever comparison you want, if you think he's unproven than you haven't watched him play. He's beaten the best teams too. When Luongo fell flat, Schneider won 13 out of 15 games. That's not unproven, that's an elite goalie playing less games than he should be.
